Spring 2025 Badge Programs from Instructional Design

PSU Scranton Spring 2025 Badges

Join us this semester for multiple digital badge programs from the Scranton Center for Instructional Design.  By request, we will be offering our original Canvas Learning Path badge, along with our Accessibility Badge and the remaining sessions from our Advanced Canvas Badge that have been rescheduled from last semester.

Participants who complete our badges will have them awarded through the Penn State Canvas badging platform for display on your personal webpage or LinkedIn.  All you need is a badge backpack!

Participants demonstrate the creation of a Canvas course section for their students by following the Penn State Canvas Learning Path. The final Canvas course will include all elements required for students to easily utilize the course during a semester by following best practices from the University and Quality Matters.  Our Canvas Badge is in 6 sessions and includes consulting with the campus Instructional Designer to review a completed course.

Remaining sessions from the Fall 2024 semester are rescheduled for Spring 2025.  Participants will continue with the Penn State Canvas Learning Path, building a class for large enrollments with integrated third-party learning tools, Canvas Learning Mastery Gradebook, and ePortfolios.  Badge earners will also develop strategies for empowering student group collaborations.

Accessibility Badge:PSU Scranton Accessibility digital badge icon

Participants will learn Penn State accessibility requirements and create a Canvas course utilizing Universal Design for Learning principles.  Badge earners will produce accessible course materials and media to provide for the inclusion of all students.  Our Accessibility Badge is in 5 sessions and includes consulting with the campus Instructional Designer for creating a new course or revising an existing course.
