Instructional Technology Pilot Projects

Worthington Scranton campus community members are participating in a number of pilot projects this Spring 2018 semester.  Faculty and students are currently using the Swivl video lecture capture system and open educational resources with Unizin Engage.  The Swivl system allows faculty to record lectures and student presentations for later review.  Unizin Engage provides free, online, interactive textbooks for students in multiple classes.

Other faculty are participating in the University’s Quality Matters pilot, which ensures continuous quality improvement in online course offerings.  There is also the Kaltura pilot, an online media management platform integrated with our Canvas Learning Management System.  Kaltura provides for storage and playback of instructional video, as well as a quiz application allowing faculty to add assessment questions to their videos.

For more information on these pilot projects, please contact the Center for Instructional Design, at (570) 963-2654, or grl13@psu.edu.
